Ronald Hoth

Ronald J. Hoth, 73, resident of Westchester, IL passed away peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital with his family surrounding him. Ron was born August 20, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Marie and Jule Hoth (deceased) and grew up in Melrose Park. He is survived by his older brother Bob of Spring Hill, FL. A Class of 1957 graduate of Proviso High School, he married Patt Cafferata-Hoth in 1960 and they had two daughters together. They later divorced though remained caring best friends. He shared his life for the past nine years with his loving partner Benji. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Lisa Dalton of Alameda, CA and Denise Hoth of Villa Park and his only grandchild, Zac Dalton, also in Villa Park. Ron was uncle to Randy (deceased), Leanna, Sandy and Karen and great-uncle to six. Ron showed his leadership skills early in life as an Eagle Scout, and later in life was a member of Mensa. He was a pioneer in the computer field holding management positions at Borg-Warner, Schwab, World Savings and taught computer programming at Triton College though he did not hold a college degree. His many passions included classic movies, Broadway musicals and collecting and restoring antique watches and clocks. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 7th at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9568 Belmont Ave. Franklin Park for a Celebration of Ron's Life. Visiting hours will be from 8:30 AM until the time of the Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Critical Care Unit.
