Beloved husband of the late Lillian 'Joanne' Fuechtmann.
Loving father of Sheila (Bryan) Ross, Brenda Fuechtmann-Susman, and Michael (Glyna Lee) Fuechtmann.  
Cherished grandfather of Steven (Zenia) Smith, Andrea (Adam) Anders, Kelly Fuechtmann, Brian Susman, Meagan Fuechtmann, Danielle Susman, Matthew (Ashley) Susman, and Chase Jackson.
Great grandfather of 9.
Dear Brother of the late Roman (the late Rose) Fuechtmann, the late Mary (the late Roy) Guthridge, Irene (the late Ed) Karls, Lambert 'Bud' (Sue) Fuechtmann, and Vernon (Dorothy) Fuechtmann.
Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Bernie will forever be remembered as a loyal and supportive father who never missed a baseball game or gymnastic meet.

Bernie was a veteran railroad official with 41 years of service in Minneapolis and Chicago.
While residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, he was a member of The Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle and a member of its Holy Name Society.
He was a graduate of Minneapolis Business College, past president of the Chicago Passenger Traffic Club, past president of the National Association of Retired Railway Employees Unit 44, "NARVE", past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 4456 Illinois, past Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly 0159 Florida.
Bernie was a member of the Pasadena Card Club for many years and was a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Society district office in St. Petersburg, Florida, the United Way Junior Achievement and the St. Petersburg Police for many years.

Visitation to be held Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park, Il, 60131.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2023, for 9:30 am prayers before departing to Holy Virgin Martyrs (St. Beatrice) Church, 4157 Atlantic Ave, Schiller Park, IL, for Mass at 10:00 am.

Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois will follow the mass.
