Bernard Joseph "Bud" Passananti
Franklin Park, IL -- Bernard Joseph "Bud" Passananti, a man defined by his unwavering kindness, dedication, and service to others, passed away on May 16, 2026 at the age of 75.
A proud veteran, Bud served his country with honor and carried that same sense of duty into every aspect of his life. He was a man of quiet strength and deep humility, known throughout his community as someone who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Bud's life and legacy were inseparable from the meat market. A butcher by trade and by blood, his journey began at the remarkable age of five. By thirteen, he was working full-time, developing the skills and discipline that would shape his lifelong career. For decades, he was a trusted and familiar presence behind the counter, known for his steady hand, expert knowledge, and genuine care for every customer he served. To many, he was more than a butcher-- he was a friend.
Above all, Bud was a devoted family man. His generous spirit, strong work ethic, and boundless love made him a pillar of strength and support to those closest to him. He took immense pride in his family and found his greatest joy in the time spent together.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; his children, Bernard (Lisa), Brian (Stephanie), and Laura (Robert); and his cherished grandchildren, Bradley, Ryan, Giana, Robert, and Santino, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness, hard work, and compassion.
Bud will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
