Christine Dlugokecki, born on June 1, 1936, in Poland and lived most of her married life in River Grove, IL, peacefully departed this world on December 19, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Witold Dlugokecki, a partner who shared in her life’s adventures and joys.
Christine was a devoted mother, inspiring and nurturing not only her children but all those who had the privilege to know her. She is survived by her children: Edwin (Malgorzata), Theresa (Timothy), Alice, Caroline, and Diane (Timothy). Each of them holds treasured memories of their mother's endless love and guidance. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Kristina (Myles), Kasey (Kyle), Juliet (Kyle), Chanell (Michael), Daniel, Brooke (Dyllan), Natalie, Madison, and Summer, each of whom she adored and supported with every ounce of her heart. Christine was also proud to be a great grandmother to Connor, Brooks, and Lilly, filling her life with immeasurable joy.
As a sister, Christine was surrounded by the love of her siblings, Henry (Helen), Jessie, and Donna and mother Weronica. She shared countless moments of laughter, support, and companionship with them and will be deeply missed. Christine also embraced her role as an aunt and a friend to many, enriching the lives of those fortunate enough to know her with warmth and kindness.
Her love for traveling was a passion shared with her husband, Vic, as they explored new places and created lasting memories together. Christine deeply cherished summer days spent in Washington State, where she found peace in nature’s beauty with her daughters and their families. She enjoyed many special moments with her grandchildren in Chicago as well. She delighted in playing dominos with Izadora, Paul, Stanley and Helen, and bingo with her friends, where her laughter and competitive spirit brought smiles to everyone around her.
A visitation to celebrate Christine’s life will be held on January 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral and Crematorium in Franklin Park, IL. A Mass will be held in her honor on January 6, 2026, at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by her interment at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum at 11:30 AM.
Christine Dlugokecki leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories that will forever bloom in the hearts of those she touched. Her spirit continues to inspire, reminding us of the importance of family, togetherness, and the beauty of life itself.
