Eileen A. Selvaggio (née Talaga) passed away peacefully in her home on October 3, 2026, at the graceful age of 89. Her gentle spirit and vibrant presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Ronald P. Selvaggio, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. She was the treasured daughter of the late Theadore and Agnes Talaga and was a devoted sister to her late brother, Robert Talaga.
Eileen's legacy lives on through her loving family. A devoted mother, she leaves behind her children, Darlene (Kenneth) Cavanaugh and Kevin Selvaggio, who were the very heart of her life. As a grandmother, she held dear her grandchildren: Kenneth (Penny) Cavanaugh, Jennifer Cavanaugh, and Lauren Peterson. The joy in her heart expanded as she welcomed her great-grandchildren, Weic Webel, Nathan and Natalie Cavanaugh, Victoria and Patrick Webel, and Kaylen Cavanaugh, into the world. They will carry forward her spirit and love through generations.
Her professional journey was marked by her work as an accountant with Hertz Rent a Car, Dominick's Food Store, and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. Eileen's dedication and precision in her work spoke volumes of her character.
Eileen's talents extended beyond her career. She was an avid seamstress and chef, often filling her home with the comforting aromas of her culinary delights. Her horse, aptly named October, was her companion for countless afternoons of horseback riding, a testament to her adventurous soul.
A lover of simple pleasures, Eileen enjoyed bike rides through the neighborhood and lively card games with her friends and family. She had an extraordinary gift for making holidays magical, with Christmas being her absolute favorite time of year. Her home was a haven of warmth and joy during the festive season, a true reflection of her generous spirit.
Eileen's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and unyielding compassion. Her influence will continue to be felt in the lives she touched and the hearts she inspired.
