Frank Erling Nosek, 85, a Chicago native and resident of Franklin Park for 65 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026. His devoted wife of 62 years and his two adoring daughters were at his side as he went to his eternal rest.
Frank was born in Chicago and was the son of the late Gulborg Myhre and the elder Frank Nosek. In addition to his parents, Frank’s aunt and uncle, the late Dorothy and Svend Jorgensen, were important parental figures in Frank’s life.
Though he was an imposing presence, Frank was known by his kind and gentle demeanor. Frank volunteered throughout his life at WTTW, as a Boy Scout leader, an election judge, and a treasurer for the Men’s Club at St. Maria Goretti. He volunteered for 15 years at Gottlieb Hospital in the lab and making blankets for patients. Frank also loved camping, dancing, travel, his garden, and his stamp and record collections, sharing these experiences with his many true friends. Most of all he loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren, who now carry forward his legacy of kindness and humility.
Frank is survived by his wife Beverly (Wussow) of Franklin Park. He is also survived by his son Gregory of Tempe, AZ, and daughters Lisa of Chicago and Dionne of Los Angeles, CA, his sons-in-law Chris Jensen and Mike Mulvihill and his grandchildren Nate Nosek-Mulvihill and Harper Nosek-Mulvihill.
