It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ivy Karas, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Ivy was the loving wife of deceased Marty Karas and the devoted mother of Brian, Doreen, and Susie. She was a cherished grandmother to Jayden, Noah, Oliver, and Miles, who brought her endless joy. Ivy was also a caring sister to Debbie, Bill, Lori, and Jodi, and a proud aunt to many nieces, nephews, and their children.

Ivy's role in this world was immeasureable. She was always eager to lend a hand, offer encouragement, be positive, and stand up for what she believed in. Ivy was hardworking, strong, caring, and deeply committed to being of service to others. Her strength of character and warm heart touched her family, the charities she gave her time to, and the students, parents, and staff of District 87. Losing her is an unthinkable loss to the community and she will be deeply missed.
