Jacqueline Granger

Aug 10, 1943 — Aug 1, 2026

Jacqueline "Jackie" Dawn Granger, 82, of Franklin Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026.
Born on August 10, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, Jackie grew up in Chicago, where she met Jerry Lee Granger.
Together they welcomed their only son, Gregory, who became the greatest joy of her life.
Jackie lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.
She had a servant's heart and was happiest when she was helping someone else.

A trailblazer in her own right, Jackie was among the first women to break into the steel industry.
She worked her way through multiple positions at Main Steel Polishing before earning a management role, where she spent 38 dedicated years before retiring.
Retirement, however, did not suit her.
Never one to sit still, she began a second career with a local credit union, where she worked for many more years before finally deciding it was time to slow down.

Jackie also served her community as a member of the Franklin Park Police and Fire Commission, where she helped identify and select the best candidates to serve the community.
Beyond her official service, she was always looking for ways to help others, whether gathering donations for local charities, volunteering with senior organizations, or simply lending a hand to someone in need.

In her younger years, Jackie was a professional water skier on the Chain O'Lakes, a passion that reflected her adventurous spirit.
Later in life, her heart belonged to her beloved West Highland White Terriers, proudly showing them in dog shows and sharing her love of the breed with everyone she met.

A lifelong Chicago Bears fan, Jackie proudly held season tickets for more than 40 years.
Bears game days became a tradition, with family and friends gathering at what they affectionately called "Bears Central," celebrating every victory and enduring every tough season together.

Jackie is survived by her only son, Gregory Granger, and her beloved granddog, Cody; her sister, Jill King; her brothers-in-law, Bob Funk and Bob King Sr.; her nephews, Nathan King and Bob King; her nieces, Tracey King and Amy King; her great-nephew, Justin King; and her great-nieces, Hannah, Abbey, and Olivia King.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Sax Tiedemann Funeral Home in Franklin Park on
Friday, August 7, from 3:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., and on
Saturday, August 8, from 10:00a.m. until 11:00a.m.
A procession will follow to Irving Park Cemetery, where a chapel service will be held.

Jackie will be remembered for her generous heart, strong will, and unwavering determination.
She lived her life with kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her love, laughter, generosity, and selfless spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
