It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of John B. Moréz, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, who passed away on June 21st, 2026 at the age of 83.
Born on January 10th, 1943 in Chicago, John lived a life defined by love, hard work, generosity, humor, and dedication to his family. He shared 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sheryn, building a life filled with memories, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
He was a proud father to Baby Michael and Michael William, who passed much too soon, and Michelle (Steve) and Monique (Russ), who will always remember him as a steady source of guidance, strength, and unconditional love. As a grandfather, he found immense joy in his grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Daniel, and Logan, cherishing every moment spent with them and taking great pride in watching them grow and explore their talents.
John enjoyed puzzles, collecting, woodworking, building everything from birdhouses and furniture for his grandkids, to kitchen cabinetry in three homes. John was known for his kind and generous heart, wisdom, helpful advice, and ability to make others feel supported and cared for. He was the kind of man who showed up when it mattered most and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, from his and Sheryn’s neighbors, to their busboy and waitress friends.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many friends who will miss him deeply.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 26, from 10:00-1:30 at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home 9568 Belmont Ave Franklin Park, IL 60131. Internment follows at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 900 N Wolf Rd, Northlake.
