Karoly "Karl" Bajzek, 86, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Elmhurst Hospital.
He will be remembered by many as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed and he was deeply loved.
Karl came to the United States from Hungary in 1957 at the time of the Hungarian Revolution. He worked first as a cabinet maker and then as a carpenter, founding Bator Carpentry with his brother, Rudy. He had a strong work ethic and sense of loyalty to his friends and family.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth, his children Olga (Michael), Karl (Mona), Tom (Pat), 10 grandchildren - Sasha (Chris), Brian, Clara, Louis, Matthew, Bernadette, Emily, Kevin, Isaac, and Todd, as well as his brother, Rudy (Rosemary).
The family thanks Elmhurst Hospital PCU and Hospice nurses and doctors, Dr. Gary McCray, Casa San Carlo and Villa Scalabrini for their care and kindness the past months.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019, from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home and Crematorium, 9568 Belmont Avenue, Franklin Park, Illinois, 60131.
Friends and family will gather at the funeral home for a prayer service on Monday, August 19, 2019, at 10:30am.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, at 11:00am at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery to follow mass.
