Lois Martens

Lois Irene Martens, age 84, was gently swept into heaven Friday, August 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by Paul Martens, her husband of forty-seven years. She will be deeply missed by her children: Ruth, James, David, Beverly, and Andrew; sister, Donna Hudrick; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephew; and their families.

Irene was a resident of River Grove, IL since her marriage to Paul in October 1953. She had a lifelong love of gardening, reading, sewing, and knitting. She made it a point to stay informed by reading the newspaper every day. Above all, she loved spending time with her neighbors, friends, and family.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 29 at Northside Gospel Center, located at 3859 N. Central Avenue, Chicago, IL 60634. Her memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
