Our beloved Marlene has gone home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of passion and strength, that will forever stay in our hearts.
To her, every living creature deserved kindness, and she made sure they always knew where to find it.
Her home and yard always a sanctuary for the small and the vulnerable.
Middle Eastern music and dance was also a part of her spirit.
Stage name Sadiya, the artist and instructor who moved many.
The moment a song played, her face would light up, and her body would find the rhythm.
She could feel every beat deep in her soul, and when she danced, it was contagious.
But above all else, she was a mother.
As a single mother of three, she faced every challenge with courage and determination.
She gave her children everything she had.
To us, she wasn’t just a mother to Sandra, Thomas, and Surayah,
a mother-in-law to Ron and Rick,
a grandma to Nasser and Norah,
a grandmother-in-law to Stephanie and Victor,
a great grandma to Benjamin, Jeffrey, George, and Safah,
a sister of Robert and (the late) Tom Gage,
and an aunt to (the late) Tom Gage, Mark Gage, and Sussie Gage,
she was the strongest woman we have ever known.
Her memory will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and all who loved her.
Though she is no longer with us, her love, her laughter, and her spirit will forever dance in our hearts.
