Mary Duggan

Mary H. Duggan, of Franklin Park, IL, passed away on the morning of Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the age of 86.
The devoted daughter of Joseph and Elsie (nee Gebhardt) Duggan, Mary was born on April 2, 1931. A resident of Franklin Park for over 70 years, she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Marquette University and worked for many years at Goodwill Industries. She was a woman of great faith and was a long-time parishioner of St. Gertrude's in Franklin Park and later St. Cyprian's in River Grove.
Mary is survived by cousins including Marie (Gebhardt) Garrett and Charles Gebhardt, a niece, Brigit (Duggan) Akpinar, and three nephews Brian, Christian, and Patrick Albert Duggan. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Elsie, and her older brother Thomas Duggan.
Family and friends will gather for a calling hours on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 4-7 pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home located at 9568 Belmont Avenue, Franklin Park, IL 60131. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 8:15 until time of prayer 9:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 2601 Clinton St, River Grove, IL 60171. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
