Nancy Martin

Nancy Frances Martin,56, passed away Thursday, April 11th surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy (Malec) was born in Franklin Park Illinois where she grew up and graduated from East Leyden High School.

In 1993, Nancy married Michael Martin. Nancy made a wonderful home for her husband and their three children, Victoria, David, and Katherine.

Nancy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and sister. Her family meant everything to her. Nancy's family was made of....

Nancy was a beloved sister of John (Judie), Malec, Donna (Tom) Peneschi, Linda (Dennis) Coppersmith, Laura (Jim) Sokol, Mary Jo (John) Peters and Julia (Dan) Melesio.

Nancy was a devoted aunt of Greg, Jason and Matthew Malec, Angela, Michael and Kevin Peneschi, Adam, Abbie, Alan and Eric Coppersmith, Steven and Samantha Sokol, Chloe, Emma, Caroline, Jack and Evan Peters, Bryon and Helen Melesio.

Nancy was a fond cousin of Cathy and Jennifer Malec, Tom (Linda) Rzendzian and Jenny, Joe, Beth Lojas.

She worked most recently at Catholic Charities and the Illinois Crisis Prevention Network. Nancy loved helping those in need.

May she rest in peace. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Visitation Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park.

Family and friends will gather at St. Gertrude Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 for mass at 10:00 am.
