Nicola “Nick” Menolascina passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on December 5, 1941, and was a devoted husband to Angela Menolascina (Racanelli) for 57 years.
Nick was proud of his Italian heritage and carried it with him throughout his life after immigrating to the United States. He served in the Italian Military and remained deeply connected to his roots, family traditions, and culture.
He was a loving father to Mariella (David) Mastromauro and Philip (Sarah) Menolascina, and a proud nonno to Angela (Scott) Gregor, Christina (Mitch) Luebbe, Nicholas, Nathaniel, and Alexander Menolascina. He was also a cherished bisnonno to Brooke Gregor and Myles Luebbe.
Nick is survived by his sisters, Nancy (Nick) Carella and Franca Menolascina. He was also a loving brother-in-law and dear uncle to many nephews and nieces. He will be remembered as a kind, generous man who valued family, friendship, faith, and tradition. Nick found comfort in his belief in God, and his family takes peace in knowing he has been welcomed into eternal rest, reunited with loved ones, and embraced by God’s everlasting love.
A visitation for Nick will be held on December 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral and Crematorium located at 9568 Belmont Ave, Franklin Park, IL. Following the visitation, a solemn interment will take place at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, beginning at 1:00 PM, where he will find his final resting place at 520 E Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL.
