Robert Mason

With profound love and deep sadness, the family of Robert C. Mason, age 76, announces his passing on December 7, 2025. Robert was the beloved son of the late Robert R. Mason and Dorothy (Slechter) Mason, and the devoted husband of Gail (Turville) Mason, his best friend and partner in life for more than 53 years.

Robert married Gail on April 8, 1972, beginning a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Together they enjoyed vacationing, trap shooting, golfing, fishing, browsing craft shows, attending their grandchildren’s events, and taking spontaneous road trips—moments that became treasured memories.

A proud and dedicated father, Robert is survived by his children Robert Mason, Michael (Erica) Mason and Jennifer (Tim) Zinga. He was the cherished grandfather of Giovani, Marisol, Lily, Tyler, Dominic, Gage, Rocco, Zoe, and Piper, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. Robert is also survived by his dear brother, John (Cheryl) Mason.

Born and raised in Franklin Park, Illinois, Robert later made Northlake, IL, his home for the past 49 years. He began his working career at Mercor, followed by G & G Locotronics, Inc., General Electric (GE), and ultimately retired from Elcon. Throughout his professional life, Robert was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and the pride he took in providing for his family.

Above all, Robert loved being surrounded by the people he loved most. He was a proud grandfather who rarely missed a sporting event and could often be found cheering loudly from the sidelines. At home, he found comfort in listening to country music, relaxing in his recliner, watching his favorite shows, and barbecuing for his family.

Robert will be remembered for his strength, kindness, sense of humor, loyalty, and the deep love he poured into his family. His presence will be profoundly missed, and his legacy will continue through every life he touched.
