Robert Elmer McGowan

Robert Elmer McGowan died peacefully at home on the afternoon of Sunday, October 6, 2024. 

Bob was a loving husband to Norma Jean for nearly 69 years. 

Bob was a devoted father to the late Robert Jr., Cheryl (Timothy aka “Big Tinny”) McLean, Robin (Randy aka “Unbelievable”) Conrad, and Amy McGowan (Jeffrey Kruse aka “Jeffie”). 

Bob aka “Paup or Paupie” was a beloved grandfather to Lauren aka “Lawn” (Anthony) Campos, Timothy aka “Lou Bob” (Elizabeth) McLean, Beau aka “Randy Beau” (Cassie) Conrad, Paige aka “Sossy” (Jason) Zeman, Kevin aka “Kedzie” (Elisabeth) Conrad, and Matthew aka “Moo”. 

Paupie was a great-grandfather to Miles, Sophie Lou, and Adaline. 

Paupie was a dog-great grandpa to Knuckles aka “Charlie”, Opie, Luke and Franklin. 

Bob had three brothers the late Mahlon, the late William, and the late Charlie and was a fond uncle to many. 

Bob was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Virgin Martyrs Catholic Church and looked forward to weekly mass. 
He was a diehard Cubs fan and enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune every afternoon.
