Rose R. Janas

Rose R. Janas (née Gillcrist), 71, of Franklin Park, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 3, 2022.
She was born in Boston on May 8, 1951, to parents William A. Gillcrist and Tefta Athanas.

Rose grew up in Chicago near Hanson Park, graduated from Foreman High School in 1969 and then obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northeastern Illinois University.
She loved gardening, playing pinochle, and celebrating her Irish American heritage.
Rose worked for many years as a waitress at Come Back Inn in Melrose Park and Armand's in Elmwood Park, as a real-estate broker, and as a study hall supervisor at Leyden High Schools.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Terrence T. Janas.

Survived by sons Terrence B. (Jacqueline) Janas, Jonathan W. (Stephanie) Janas; daughter Emily N. (Wesley) Bily; sisters Kathleen (Steven) Schmidt, Patricia (George A.) Saenz; brothers William Jr. (Cecille), Louis (Mary Jo); granddaughter Allison Rose Janas; fiancé Dennis Goldfarb.
