A long-time Melrose Park resident, Rosealma lived to an amazing one hundred years old. She
was born on December 24th, 1925, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, the beloved daughter
of the late Ann and the late Virgil L’Herault. She was the dear sister of Patricia Monticello, the
late Marion Lau, the late Phyllis Halter, the late Charles L’Herault, and the late Jacqueline
Wallace.
Rosealma was a “war bride,” married October 17th, 1942, to the only love of her life, William J.
Becker, Jr., World War II and Korean War army veteran. They celebrated their remarkable 75th
wedding anniversary in 2017 before his death the following year.
Rosealma became a devoted mother to seven children and their spouses. Marlene (the late
Marco Novelli and the late Harold) Johnson, the late Michael (Francine) Becker, the late William
J. (Eileen) Becker III, Christine Bryant, Laura Becker, Rebecca (the late Michael) Elliot, and the
late Claudia (Christopher) Bruzzini.
She was also a precious and cherished grandmother to seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven
great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren.
Rosealma remained a committed follower of Christ and a faithful member of St.Paul’s
Evangelical Covenant Church, Franklin Park, until her passing on January 9th, 2026.
