Susan OSF

Susan Irene Dzikas (Sister Denise, OSF), 76, of Melrose Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. She was born on September 5, 1940 in Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Veronica and Alexander Dzikas

Susan is survived by her sisters, Aurelia (John) Bremer and Judith McGinley; nieces and nephews: Susan and John F. Bremer, Laura (Craig) Thiele, Jody (Todd) Cadieux, Peter (Pam) McGinley and Judith Rupp. She is also a Great-Aunt of 10.

She was the business manager at St. Gabriel's and Visitation Catholic School Chicago. She was the former principal at St. Gertrude School, St. Paul & Our Lady of Vilna and Mt. Assisi Academy. She started her teaching career at Grant Elementary School. She was a member of Chicago Catholic Cursillo. She was also a member of St. Gertrude Church (F.P.), Eucharistic Minister and Co-ordinator of Minister's Care.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 3 pm to 9 pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 8:30 am until time of prayer, 9:30 am.
The funeral mass will follow at 10:00 am at St. Gertrude's Church, 9613 Schiller Boulevard, Franklin Park.
Interment to follow at St. Casimir Cemetery, 4401 W. 111th Street Chicago.
