Virginia Dalke

Virginia “Ginny” Dalke of Elmwood Park, IL, passed away peacefully on March 24,2025, after a long battle with COPD and heart disease.

Daughter of the late Robert and Violet Mearns, Virginia was born April 24, 1942.
She graduated from Elmwood Park High School and lived in Elmwood Park, IL, her whole life.
Ginny married her husband Eugene Dalke, Jr. on April 30, 1966, and they were married until his passing in 2013.
She is survived her two sons Robert and Steven Dalke.

Virginia will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and friend.
She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially cats. There is not a cat or kitten she could resist.
She liked to cook, before her lung and heart problems prevented her from doing so.
She also enjoyed arts and crafts, including sewing outfits for plastic outdoor geese.

Ginny liked to go to Waverly, Iowa, with her son Robert in the fall.
Robert is a Wartburg College graduate and made it a tradition of attending their homecoming events when he could.
She liked attending the Renaissance Fair ~ but the football game, not so much.
Although, she would ask how the football team was doing and would watch them play on television when she could.
