William Weichbrodt, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted Marine, passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on May 21, 1931, William lived a life marked by love, dedication, and service to his family and country.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Weichbrodt. Together, they raised a family that includes their children: Susan (George) Bratanick, Karen Weichbrodt, Bill (Diane) Weichbrodt, Marcia (Anthony) Cozzi, and James (Marianne) Weichbrodt. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Brian (Rachel) Bratanick, Jason (Jennifer) Bratanick, Melissa Carrasco, Kristen (John) Walter, Jessica (Robert) Fischer, and Jimmy Weichbrodt. In addition, William was blessed with nine great-grandchildren who brought him boundless joy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cherished their Uncle Bill, especially his niece Nancy.
William's service to his country as a Marine was a source of pride throughout his life. He embodied the values of courage, honor, and commitment, traits that he instilled in those who loved him.
The family invites all who knew William to join them in celebrating his life and legacy. Visitation will be held on July 1, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral and Crematorium, located at 9568 Belmont Ave, Franklin Park, IL 60131. A Prayer Service will take place the following day, July 2, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, also at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral and Crematorium.
A Mass will be celebrated at Holy Virgin Martyrs Catholic Church, located at 4157 Atlantic Ave., Schiller Park, IL 60176, on July 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2852 N Thatcher Ave, River Grove, IL 60171, starting at 12:00 PM.
William Weichbrodt will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. His legacy of love for his family and commitment to serving others will live on in the hearts of many.
