Zosima Manalo

January 4, 1951 — September 6, 2019

Zosima "Emma" Manalo passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on the evening of September 6, 2019.

Beloved wife of Edgardo Manalo. Loving mother of Roderick "Jake" (Ariane) and Rochelle "Che-Che" (Travis). Grandmother of Joshua, Connor and Camden. Dear sister of Leticia Abiad. Aunt of many.

She was a friend and a second mother to many. Because of her selflessness and compassion, she was able to forge lasting friendships and bring family together under any circumstance. Her love and devotion to God was felt by all that knew her and made others better because of it.

She was also an incredibly strong woman. She worked tirelessly to ensure her family's future in a country that was foreign to her and always helped those she left back home. She fought bravely for six years against the illness that ultimately claimed her. Her courage and strength will live on in all the people she touched with her life.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Eusebia Gomez, her sister, Carmen and her nephews, Arthur and Wilfredo.
