Agnes “Dolly” Nordeen
April 21, 1934 – January 5, 2020

Dolly Nordeen passed away at the age of 85.  Beloved wife of the late Howie Nordeen, loving mother of Lynn Mohr (Scott) and Tim Nordeen (Francine), loving grandmother of Ryan, Austin and Charlotte Nordeen, Steve and Vicki Mohr.  Beloved daughter of Gustave and Edith Lofgren, dear sister to Harvey (Jeanne), Adeline (Roger) and Gustave “Bob” (Carol). Fond Aunt and friend to many.
Dolly was born in Hinsdale where she was the Drum Majorette for Hinsdale High School.  She moved downtown to Chicago where she attended and graduated from Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a RN.  It was during her time working at Wesley that she met the love of her life, Howie, when his sister Norma was her patient with a broken leg. Norma called Howie to come meet her beautiful, compassionate nurse and bring chocolates! Dutiful Howie followed her instructions which led to the enjoyment of 62 years of marriage to Dolly. A true love story which we believe still continues.
For years Dolly cared for many in long term care and private nursing.  Later, she worked as a school nurse specifically coordinating and implementing vision and hearing screening to all District 63 students.
Dolly was a long time resident of Glenview and enjoyed various activities with neighbors and friends.  She was always quick with her wit and had a wonderful sense of humor that was enjoyed by all.  Dolly was an incredibly caring, supportive and generous woman. She was a great baker and cook and hosted many dinner parties. She enjoyed travel, music and theater, the lake house, Glenview Covenant Church (treasurer for 20 years), her Swedish heritage and most of all time with Howie and her family.
