Marjorie Irene Allen Katsion Filipello passed from this life on March 16th, 2021.
Marjorie died peacefully in her home of 64 years in the presence of her three sons and daughter-in-law.
Marjorie was born in her family home on Tripp Street Chicago on March 9th, 1931.
Preceded in death by her parents Eva and Daniel Allen.
Survived by sisters June (the late Frank) Swies and Evelyn (Glenn) Katsion.
Survived by first cousins Betty (the late Robert) Jacklin and Mary Jane (the late Ed) Haldemann.
Survived by sons Gary (Pamela) Katsion, Gerry (Adeline) Katsion, and Greg (Barbara) Katsion.
Marjorie was happily married to Gene Katsion on April 25th, 1952, in Chicago, IL, for 32 years until Gene’s death in 1984. Loving mother to Gary, Gerry, Greg.
Marjorie was happily married to James Filipello on July 5th, 1995, in Maywood, IL, for 25 years until Jim’s death on March 13th, 2021. Loving Stepmother to Renee (Roger) Klein.
Survived by brother-in-law Henry Filipello.
Loving grandmother to Michelle (Tim) Taylor, Geoffrey Katsion, Carolyn (Michael) Kloppke, William (divorced Jennifer) Power, Nicholas (Kristine) Katsion, Claire Katsion, Victoria (Mark) Nelson, Elissa (Steve) Nelson, Nicholas (Angela) Klein, Vincent Klein, Danielle Klein, Phillip Klein, and Christopher Klein.
Loving great-grandmother to Laura, Daneva, Kaylie, Vincent, Angela, Gianna, Celine, Henry, Patrick, Dominick, Francessa, Seraphina, Amelia, and James.
Loving aunt to numerous nephews and nieces.
Marjorie was very active in various family, religious, work and civic organizations. Cub Scout den mother, PTA Jane Addams school president, election judge for several presidential elections, member of Presbyterian Church of Maywood until becoming Catholic for her and James wedding at Sacred Heart Church in Melrose Park in 2008, active member of Machinist Union with United Airlines and active member of Melrose Park Senior Citizens Club. Attended Timming Family Reunions for 80 years (1935-2015)
Visitation Friday, March 19, 2021, from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Sacred Heart Church Melrose Park with Mass to follow at 1:00pm.
Internment at All Saints Cemetery Des Plaines, IL, following the procession from church.
