Obituary

Susan “Suzi” Voelkner left this world surrounded by the love of her family in the comfort of her home on March 19, 2022.
She is the beloved wife and best friend of Marty Voelkner.
The devoted mother to Cara (James) Sherrod and Alyssa Voelkner.
Best friend and Grammy to Emilee and Abbi Sherrod.
She is survived by her brother Joe (Pam) Orth, and sister Sherry (Marty) Selgrad, 
She is preceded in death by her parents Jim Orth and Joanne Orth, and late brother Larry Orth.
Cherished aunt, cousin, Godmother and friend to many.

Suzi found joy in many things which is why she could make the best out of any situation.
If you could not find her in her garden, she was either at Kohl’s, spending time with her friends, or on adventures with her grandchildren.
She was all about lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it which continued with the donation of her brain to the University of Maryland.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm ~ and ~ Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Avenue, Franklin Park, IL, 60131, 847.678.1950.

A 10:00am Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1135 Daniel Drive, Bensenville, IL, 60106.
